The deadline for the presentation of the Brazilian Capital Declaration abroad (DCBE) to the Central Bank of Brazil is already in progress.

Last week, it started to run the deadline for the presentation of the Brazilian Capital Declaration abroad that has to be sent through the Central Bank System of Brazil within the 05.04, to all natural and legal persons residing in Brazil that hold assets abroad as of 31.12.2018, for an overall value of USD 100,000 (or equivalent value in other currencies).
For those who hold assets worth more than USD 100,000,000, the Declaration must be presented quarterly.
This declaration is mandatory and, if not presented, exposes the taxpayer to penalties that vary from R $ 2,500 to R $ 250,000, depending on the case.
All assets abroad must be analyzed, in order to verify whether or not the obligation to present the aforementioned Declaration exists. In this sense, values and assets held abroad such as goods, rights, investments, deposits, real estate, company shareholdings, etc. must be declared.
